Porto is the right size for a weekend. The center is walkable in an afternoon, the food is forgiving on the budget, and the day trip to the Douro is the kind of group experience that turns into a chat-thread reference forever.
Friday Night
Land by 6pm, drop bags in a Cedofeita or Aliados apartment. Aperitivo at Aduela on Rua das Oliveiras - this is the bar where Porto reunions start. Walk down to dinner at Cantina 32 for a casual table or Cantinho do Avillez if you want more.
End the night at Mercado Bom Sucesso if you still have energy, or just walk back across the Dom Luis bridge for the view. The bridge at midnight is one of the small free pleasures of European travel.

Saturday: The Douro Day
Book a small-group tour or hire a driver and visit two wineries - Quinta do Bomfim and Quinta do Tedo are reliable picks. Lunch is at the second winery. Stop in Pinhão for the train station's azulejo tiles. Back to Porto by 7pm.
Dinner doesn't need to be ambitious tonight. The Douro day has done the work. Tasca Expressinho for grilled fish, or just pastries and wine at a wine bar like Prova in Vila Nova de Gaia.

Sunday Slow
Brunch at Zenith. Walk to Livraria Lello if anyone hasn't seen it - book online to skip the queue. Mid-afternoon tram 1 to Foz for a coffee by the Atlantic. Back to the airport by 5pm.
