Tbilisi is the reunion city more groups should be considering. Cheap, walkable, deeply weird in the best way, with food and wine that punch way above the price point. Three days fits perfectly.
Day One: Old Town And The Sulphur Baths
Arrive, settle in Sololaki or Vera. Lunch at Shavi Lomi for a long Georgian table experience. Afternoon walk through the Narikala fortress area - cable car up, walk down through Abanotubani.
Book a private room at the Orbeliani or Chreli Abano sulphur baths for the evening - 1 hour, around 60-80 GEL per person, it's the most-talked-about evening of the trip. Late dinner at Cafe Stamba or just wine at Vino Underground.
Day Two: Kazbegi Day Trip
Hire a driver for the day, around 250 GEL split four ways. Leave by 8am. Stops at Jvari Monastery, Ananuri Fortress, lunch at Pasanauri, then the drive up the Georgian Military Highway to Stepantsminda and the view of Gergeti Trinity Church with Kazbek behind it. Back by 8pm.
This day is most of the trip's photos. Dinner can be small - just khinkali and beer at Velo Cafe.
Day Three: Fabrika And The Slow Sunday
Brunch at Fabrika in the courtyard. Walk to the Dry Bridge market for an hour - it's flea market chaos and excellent. Coffee at Erti Kava. Late lunch at Barbarestan if you can get a table.
Flights are usually overnight from TBS. Use the afternoon for one last wine bar - 8000 Vintages is the right last stop.
